Big 1

My baby's 1st birthday:)

I have to talk a little bit about my scrapbooks and the sizes that I do.

For my kids, I do a 6x6. It's a challenge at times. Most of the time, I only have 1 picture that I want to put in there because I'm documenting a milestone. But on occasions like birthdays, sports or classes that they have taken where I have several pictures, it's been a bit of a challenge. I feel like I have to print the pictures really small and then I have to still crop them more than I want. I had to totally crop out the cake on his birthday pictures, which is the most fun part. I tell myself it's okay because I have digital copies of everything, but I'm not sure.

For things that are the three boys together or at least two of them, I have a 11x8.5 (it's landscape). This is my favorite album to do. I don't usually do a two page spread... just a single, and it's usually just a few pictures because it's something we've done just during the day or a comparison or a picture of the three of them together or maybe something fun about just two of them.

For anything that relates to the whole family I do a 12x12 two page spread. These are definitely fun and they usually have a ton of pictures.

Kinderbear

I helped Brenner make this for Kinderbear's journal at school. I thought it was so cute that I made a copy for the journal and kept the original for Brenner's scrapbook. He did the sticker title and the journalling on the right.

Back to School

So, the other day I put together this super cute layout for when the boys started preschool last year. I went to put it in my album when I saw this....
How pathetic is it that I had already scrapbooked my back to school pics and I had forgotten?

Thankfully, Cami suggested that I could use the single photo layout for something else and just swap photos... now I'm a year ahead on a back to school layout!

Can I consider this layout a girly layout because it has pink pompoms??? Will that scar Terek when he's older?

Ella's Preschool Graduation

This is the page that I did for my scrap-a-page contest on my craft blog back in May. The winner ended up being Cami's mom and she wanted me to do a page for her scrapbook of Cami's daughter Ella at her preschool graduation. I love doing girly stuff, but with the colors in the pictures, I opted for a more bright color scheme that didn't end up as girly, but still way fun to do.
I especially loved all of my felt embellishments that I got to sew on and the cute gathered ribbon that I like to do on all of my pages right now.

Birth Announcement

I don't know if this counts, but I wanted to post this birth announcement I made for my friend Rachel. I even took the picture.

Blue Dinos Soccer

I love Sassafrass Lass. Their papers are sooooo cute and so fun!
Here is a layout that I did of Brenner's and Joren's soccer last fall.
I used the patterned paper from Sassafrass Lass. I mounted the larger team picture on black Bazzill cardstock. I used acrylic paint on my foam stamps from a Lisa Bearnson Kit of the Month. Thickers from American Crafts. And I love stitching.... especially the gathered ribbon that I've been doing a lot lately. (click on the picture to see it larger)
After I finished the "professional" pictures (they aren't that good) I had forgotten about the pictures that Ryan and I took. So I had to try to do a coordinating page with my scraps.

Brenner's 5th Birthday

This was a very simple layout. It's fun to pull the corner rounder out once in awhile. Patterned paper is Basic Grey and I love buttons just as much as I love stitching and ribbon.
When I was pregnant with Brenner I got caught up on all of my scrapbooking. I had been doing 8 1/2 x 11 for years and I decided that since we were changing from a couple to a family, I could change my scrapbooking. So I started doing 12x12 for my family album but thought I would do 6x6 for each kid. That has actually turned out pretty good for MOST things. I only need one or two pictures of the first smile, haircut, etc. The hard part has been birthdays. I feel like I have to leave so many pictures out because I just can't fit them on the 6x6 pages. (at least I have digital copies of everything:)

Wipes

Love circles, stitching and buttons... and I love baby T.

Hands and feet

I love the pics of the hands and feet up close... especially when they are pudgy like T's.
